After chemistry, Nine skipped his next class and went to the roof. So technically students weren’t allowed up here, but he couldn’t bring himself to care. He needed air. He needed to get away from his racing thoughts and those cramped hallways.
Chemistry had only made him feel worse; he’d been able to manage nothing but meaningless awkward small talk with Rose, and it only reminded him of how badly he’d screwed everything up.
